The Recruiting Specialist


Position Overview: 

  • The McNabb Center is seeking a highly motivated Recruitment Specialist to join our team.
  • As a Recruiting Specialist You will play a pivotal role in representing the interests of the McNabb Center by identifying, attracting, and matching qualified student, agency temps, contractors and other non-traditional personnel to Center personnel needs.
  • This role requires a bachelor's degree and a passion for recruiting top talent to support our mission of providing exceptional mental health and social services to individuals and families in our community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Recruitment Strategy Development: Develop and implement innovative and effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent from diverse backgrounds.
  • Candidate Sourcing: Utilize various sourcing methods including job boards, social media, networking events, and community outreach to identify potential candidates.
  • Candidate Screening and Assessment: Conduct thorough screening and assessment of candidates to ensure alignment with position requirements and organizational values.
  • Interview Coordination: Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers, ensuring a positive and efficient interview experience for all parties involved.
  • Talent Pipeline Management: Transition 50% of student interns into full time employees. Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future job openings.
  • Employer Branding: Represent the McNabb Center as an employer of choice by promoting our organizational culture, values, and opportunities for professional growth by 1) responding to online reviews 2) representing the Center with integrity in the community.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations and maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment and hiring of non-traditional personnel documentation.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with hiring managers and other stakeholders to understand staffing needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve recruitment processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze recruitment metrics and reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

  1. Professionalism & Teamwork
  • Communicates effectively with all HR team members.

  • Adheres to all Policy and Procedures of McNabb Center.
  • Maintains the utmost confidentiality in all HR matters.
  • Demonstrates professionalism through responsiveness, a positive work climate and cultural competency.
  • Engage hiring supervisors and all staff in a positive, professional manner with the goal of efficiency, effectiveness and problem solving.
  • Facilitates effective and accurate communication between department team members.
  • Actively participates in team meetings/discussions.
  • Triages calls and emails to determine urgency and returns them in a timely manner. Target to return urgent or important emails and internal phone calls within 24 hours. All others within 3 business days are the goal.

2. Recruitment

  • Manages external recruiting efforts with job boards including:
  • Vets incoming applications/resumes and forwards appropriate applicants to hiring supervisors.
  • Communicates with applicants through applicant/job posting platform to facilitate positive McNabb Center experience.
  • Assists applicants to apply on McNabb Center's careers page to facilitate the new hire process.
  • Responds to reviews on Glassdoor, Indeed, etc.
  • Updates HR with new job descriptions; making sure to utilize new job descriptions each time a job is posted or refreshed.
  • Manages all yearly contracts with contracted personnel.
  • Manages student intern programs and facilitates smooth processes.
  • Engages students closely and recruits for full time work.
  • Leads diversity recruiting efforts through creative action steps including Job Target, positive relationships with 10 colleges (including HBCs) and 2 diversity fairs per year.
  • Uses industry standard titles and base rates in job ads to promote visibility.
  • Participates in career fairs or other types of awareness events to promote jobs and the Center soliciting materials through Communication Department.
  • Prepares recruitment fair materials (flyers, tabling supplies, giveaways, etc.)
  • Works with Communication Department to utilize social media outlets to boost high need job vacancies.
  • Maintains e3 accuracy with regard to open positions (new, frozen and ending positions).
  • Completes weekly vacancy report.


Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Travel:

  • Travel required frequently in East Tennessee using personal vehicle to drive to meet with agency temps and students, go to various sites to meet with hiring supervisors to understand vacancies and needs, attend career fairs, etc.

Equipment/Technology:

  • Basic computer skills are required for email, timekeeping, and documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and applicant tracking systems (ATS).

QUALIFICATIONS - Recruiting Specialist

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Social Work.

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of recruitment best practices and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with candidates, personnel, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about making a positive impact in the community and supporting the mission of the McNabb Center.
