Reimbursement Specialist– Claims Follow-Up

The ideal Reimbursement Specialist- Claims Follow-Up has the ability to carefully audit all claims transactions before and after submission to ensure accurate and timely filing. 

SUMMARY

The Reimbursement Specialist- Claims Follow-Up will perform a variety of auditing and resolution-centered activities such as responding to inquiries related to claim submissions, working on various claims projects and identifying claim errors, and recommended solutions. Must work the assigned schedule that is agreed upon at time of hire.

Employees in this job complete and oversee a variety of professional assignments to evaluate, review, monitor, and bill patient claims. The employee performs a full range of reimbursement claims auditing assignments in a full functioning capacity. Considerable independent judgment is used to make decisions in carrying out assignments that have significant impact on claims and services. Guidelines may be available but require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action.

REQUIREMENTS

Education/KnowledgeHigh school diploma or equivalent required. 

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in medical insurance processing and supervisory experience.  Experience in behavioral/ mental health billing, knowledge of CPT and medical coding preferred.

Applicants should possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity.  Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with others, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as maintaining proper documentation. 

Physical: Hearing of normal and soft tones as well as close eye work. Valid driver's license. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.

COMPENSATION:  Salary for this position starts at $15.39/hour depending on education and experience.

The McNabb Center (www.mcnabbcenter.org) is a premier not-for-profit provider of behavioral health services.  The Center provides quality care and serves all ages in a continuum of prevention, early intervention, social, co-occurring, addiction, outpatient, and crisis services.
