JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Summary of position:

  • The Talent Retention Specialist will support center-wide initiatives designed to foster a positive workplace culture, promote staff wellbeing, and strengthen employee retention.
  • This role provides essential administrative, logistical, and communications support to ensure the success of internal engagement efforts and employee recognition programs.
  • Reporting directly to the Vice President of Organizational Culture and Advancement, this individual will play a key role in executing day-to-day operational tasks, coordinating staff events across 20+ locations, and supporting internal campaigns related to wellness, appreciation, and culture-building.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate logistics for staff appreciation events, wellness challenges, and morale-building initiatives
  • Manage scheduling, invitations, and calendar support for internal events and meetings
  • Assist with internal communications, email responses, and follow-up tasks
  • Distribute employee engagement items, including prizes, swag, and printed materials
  • Support volunteer programs such as therapy dog visits and other special projects
  • Maintain organized records of participation and engagement metrics
  • Collaborate with other departments and administrative staff as needed to streamline efforts
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the VP, including task tracking and light project coordination

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting salary for this position is approximately $25.47/hour based on relevant experience and education.

    Schedule:

    • Primary working hours are Monday thru Friday 8am-5pm with some after-hours/weekends required to complete tasks as needed.

    Travel:

    • Travel required using personal vehicle to drive between sites and events

    Equipment/Technical Competency:

    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and basic data tracking tools

    QUALIFICATIONS - Talent Retention Specialist

    Experience / Knowledge:

    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
    • Experience in employee engagement, wellness coordination, or event planning a plus
    • Ability to work independently while juggling multiple projects
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and basic data tracking tools

    Education / License:

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, communications, health promotion, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
