JOB SUMMARY
Summary of role of team:
- This position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking.
- This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business.
- Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment.
- F endorsement is required. CPR and First Aid Certification required.
Summary of position:
- Hires, trains, and supervises nursing staff for Hamblen CSU, housed at the Hamblen County campus.
- Oversees scheduling, monitors training needs, attends daily treatment teams and participates in the multi-disciplinary Hamblen's CSU treatment team.
- Orders supplies for the units, available for selected 24/7 on-call medical questions and/or admission protocol inquiries.
- Completes chart reviews and state reports to monitor for contract and agency compliance.
- Provides direct care to clients as needed and assists with crisis interventions and medical emergencies.
- Coordinates with all team members regarding client discharge planning, and serves as a liaison with other agencies as indicated.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
- This position is housed at the Hamblen County Campus and requires both office-based clinical and administrative work and community-based clinical interactions.
- The Upper East CSU RN coordinator will be responsible for engaging clients, peers, and community members in a professional and therapeutic manner.
- Schedule requires 12 hours shifts and rotating weekends.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function.
- Telehealth and doxy may be used at times for services resulting in phone/computer sessions for specific cases.
- Staff will be expected to work in and create a therapeutic environment while meeting the medical and facility requirements for operating a CSU.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

COMPENSATION:
- Starting salary for this position is approximately $35.02 /hr based on relevant experience and education.
Schedule:
- The Hamblen Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) will operate 24/7, 365 days a year.
- The holder of this position will be expected to work shifts that meet the needs of the program operation, which may include day, night, weekend, and holiday hours.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function.
Travel:
- This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business.
- Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment.
Equipment/Technical Competency:
- This position requires the use of computer skills with an electronic medical record (EMR), and telehealth/televideo services may be offered as part of the service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS - Upper East CSU RN Coordinator
Experience / Knowledge:
- Associate/Bachelor's degree from an accredited College/University.
- Experience in psychiatric nursing and acute care preferred.
- Must have the ability to present professionally, work within a team format, and have the mental ability to exercise sound, clinical judgment under pressure.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) and possess good time management and organizational skills.
- Basic computers skills required; experience with electronic medical record (EMR) preferred.
- Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination preferred.
- 2 years' supervisory experience preferred.
Education / License:
- Must have a RN degree with a current/valid Tennessee license with course work or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, primary care, etiology, and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug use, physical and sexual abuse, suicide, and intellectual developmental delays.
- Must demonstrate a working knowledge of supervisory, administrative, and clinical skills.
Physical/Emotional/Social - Skills/Abilities:
- Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
- Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors.
- Hearing of normal and soft tones.
- Close eye work.
- Valid driver's license.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, running, and walking.
- Updated CPR/First Aid requirement.
- Physical de-escalation techniques will only be implemented at McNabb Center facilities and not in community settings.
- Mandatory to stay awake and alert during shift.
- Must have mental ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
