Family Support Worker

The Ideal Family Support Worker provides direct service to mothers, fathers, newborn infants, and children up to age 5 in a community setting.

  • Provides home visits, information and referral, agency linkage, goal plans and conducts developmental screenings on each child.
  • Provides crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $13.62 /hr (HS) and $15.78 /hr (Bachelor's) based on relevant experience and education.

Scheduling: 

  • Full time. 
  • Flexibility and willingness to do home visits outside normal business hours to meet the needs of the service population of the program

Travel

  • This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business and maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment. 
  • An F endorsement is required

Equipment/Technology

  • Basic computer skills for email, scheduling, electronic medical records, and time keeping are required.

QUALIFICATIONS - Family Assessment Worker

Education/Knowledge

  • A HS diploma is required. Bachelor's Degree in one of the health and science or human services field required is preferred 
  • Knowledge of childhood development and parenting skills. 

Experience

  • One year of direct service with target population preferred.
  • Infant Mental Health endorsement desired.

 Physical:

  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal/soft tones and close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
