Registered Nurse Coordinator (Crisis Services)

JOB SUMMARY

Hires, trains, and supervises nursing staff for the Crisis Stabilization Unit. Oversees scheduling, monitors training needs, attends daily treatment treatment teams and functions in a leader role in the multi-disciplinary CSU treatment teams.  Orders supplies for the units, available for selected 24/7 on-call medical questions and/or admission protocol inquiries. Completes chart reviews and state reports to monitor for contract and agency compliance. Provides direct care to clients as needed and assists with crisis interventions and medical emergencies. Coordinates with all team members regarding client discharge planning, and serves as a liaison with other agencies as indicated. 

This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment. Regular attendance is an essential job function. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/Knowledge: Must have a RN degree with a current Tennessee license and experience or a Master's Degree in a behavioral health related field.  Must demonstrate a working knowledge of supervisory, administrative, and clinical skills.

Experience: Supervisory experience will be given preference.  Clinical experience with SPMI desired.

Applicants should possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity.  Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as maintaining proper documentation. 

Physical: Exposure to biological hazards. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Close eye work. Valid driver's license. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. To ensure the safety of the clients and staff, this position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques (Handle with Care) that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking. CPR certification is a requirement for this position.
