Job Summary

  • This position is designed to provide intermittent, support for a specific annual fundraising event. 
  • Responsibilities include: supporting key aspects of event planning, marketing, communications, and fundraising efforts. Duties include Coordinating and facilitating interviews and meetings between participating artists and clients, Providing after-hours access to McNabb Center facilities for scheduled meetings, Assisting with event logistics and organization, and Supporting strategic digital marketing initiatives. 
  • The position also supports the development of promotional materials and content for a variety of communication platforms to increase awareness, engagement, and participation in the event.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Development

  • Participate in coordination and implementation of fundraising and community/internal events
  • Create and distribute marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, programs, etc
  • Organize and maintain event contacts and distribution lists
  • Provide volunteer coordination assistance for special events
  • Assist with other special projects as needed

2. Marketing/Communications

  • Monitor program-level social media accounts and assist staff on effective social media engagement; provide assistance and support as necessary to help staff implement social strategies for their individual programs.
  • Coordinate and design email marketing in conjunction with the Breakthrough Gala and other special events.

3. Content Management/Publications

  • Assist with basic photography and submit to marketing department and contracted marketing firm.

Schedule: 

  • Hours will vary throughout the event planning cycle, with workloads increasing during key planning periods and decreasing during off-peak months. Scheduling will be based on the needs of the event.

Travel:

  • This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment. An F endorsement is required.

QUALIFICATIONS- PRN Special Events Specialist

Education/Knowledge: 

  • Bachelor's degree from a four year accredited college or university preferred.
  • Knowledge of current practices in marketing, fundraising and community development, as well as the behavioral health field.

Experience: 

  • Marketing, development or related field preferable
  • Software skills must include Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat.) 
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

Physical: 

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
