Floating Client Benefits Specialist

The Floating Client Benefits Specialist works directly with clients in the process of registering, assessing client's eligibility for services, and maintaining current insurance eligibility and payer information in addition to:

  • Greets clients, visitors, and guests; determines the purpose of each person's visit and directs or escorts to appropriate location.
  • Monitors front desk and complies with all security procedures.
  • Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules/cancels appointments accordingly.
  • Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and distributes items.
  • Performs administrative and clerical support tasks.
  • Performs basic filing and record keeping.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $15.04 /hr based on relevant experience and education.

Scheduling:  Required work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM with 1 hour break. If ever irregular work schedule arises; supervisor will notify staff ASAP.

Travel: Travel to other McNabb work sites is required. 

Equipment/Technology: Position requires the use of center computer, center phone and fax machine

QUALIFICATIONS - Floating Client Benefits Specialist

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Prior administrative or clerical experience preferred. 
  • Must have experience working with computers and technology.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask while working in fast paced environment while prioritizing tasks. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Knowledge of client needs and clinical workflow according to client benefits position. 
  • Maintaining most recent insurance eligibility information. 
  • Willingness to learn and implement policy and procedures. 
  • Able to work well within a team and independently.

Physical:

  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal/soft tones and close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (training provided).
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Clinical staff may be required to get an F endorsement to transport clients as necessary.
