The IPS
Employement Specialist is responsible
for the completion of all phases of employment service:
1) Intake
2) Engagement
3) Assessment,
4) Job Placement
5) Job Coaching
6) Follow Along Supports.
- Ensures consumers have access
to benefits counseling/work incentives planning.
- Works closely with Vocation
Rehabilitation Specialists and mental health treatment teams to place consumers
in competitive, diverse jobs that are tailored to meet the consumer's
individualized needs and preferences.
- Develops and maintains a strong employer
network.
- Adheres to the 8 Practice Principles of IPS and assists in maintaining
fidelity to the model.
COMPENSATION: Starting
salary for this position is approximately $17.02 /hr based on relevant
experience and education.
Schedule:
- This position has a regular schedule of Monday -
Friday 8am until 5pm.
- There is no on-call for this position and employee is off
on Center designated holidays.
- In person daily attendance is essential for this
position except in instances of approved time off.
- This position may be
required to attend events outside of the standard schedule.
Travel:
- This position requires utilizing a personal
dependable vehicle to conduct Center business.
- Maintaining a dependable vehicle
and certified driver status is a condition of employment.
- F endorsement
is required.
Equipment/Technology:
- This position does require high level computer skills for timekeeping,
scheduling and use of electronic medical records entry, and extensive
experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
QUALIFICATIONS - IPS
Employment Specialist
Education:
- Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field of
counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, or a behavioral science field
with course work or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human
development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse,
physical and sexual abuse, suicide, and intellectual disabilities.
- Candidates with
a Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation, occupational therapy, criminal justice,
education, or other fields; must have fifteen college-level semester hours of
coursework in behavioral health and at least one year of work experience in the
behavioral health setting.
Experience / Knowledge:
- One year
experience in employment counseling, job placement, job coaching, or public
vocational rehabilitation program required.
- Certification from a nationally
recognized supported employment program is preferred.
- Applicants without
certification must be eligible to obtain certification within the first 90 days
of hire.
Physical:
- Minimal
exposure to biological hazards.
- Hearing of normal/soft tones and close eye work.
- Valid driver's license.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- CPR and First Aid
certification required (training provided).
- Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal
de-escalation techniques.
- Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
- Clinical staff may be required to get an F endorsement to transport
clients as necessary.
