The Ideal Master's Level Clinician at Great Starts provides individual, group, and family therapeutic interventions that are evidence-based and culturally competent. Complete assessments for mental health of children and adults, alcohol and drug, and co-occurring disorders, formulate diagnoses, and develop master treatment plans for families. Complete paperwork timely and in compliance with contractual, legal, applicable licensing, accreditation, and quality assurance standards and oversight requirements. Work with individual clients and their families to develop and implement treatment goals and a Family Treatment Plan. Consistently meet all productivity targets set by the program. Participate in a Recovery Services Team providing programmatic input for Treatment Team decisions related to client needs and progress. Provide coverage for shifts in the transitional housing component of Great Starts.  Maintain strong collaboration with partners on behalf of the children and families served. Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $42,980 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

Travel: This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment. An F Endorsement is required as staff members may be required to provide transportation in their personal vehicle. Staff members are reimbursed for use of their vehicle for this purpose. This position may be required to travel to out of state conferences/meetings as applicable.

Equipment/Technology: This position does require computer skills for timekeeping, scheduling and use of electronic medical records entry, and extensive experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Outlook).

QUALIFICATIONS - Master's Level Clinician

Education:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required; Training in trauma informed care and interventions, co-occurring disorders, alcohol and drug etiology, child psychopathology, cultural diversity, and child development preferred.

Experience / Knowledge:

  • One year experience treating co-occurring disorders and trauma in parents preferred.

Physical:

  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal and soft tones.
  • Close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, running, and walking.
  • Physical de-escalation techniques will only be implemented at McNabb Center facilities and not in community settings.
  • Applicants should possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity. 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as maintaining proper documentation. 
  • Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
