following position: Juvenile Justice Diversion Reform (JJDR) Team Leader
The ideal JJDR
Team Leader performs the following:
- Reviews
all incoming referrals
- Attend
related meetings with local juvenile courts, DCS and other community partners
in order to maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Supervises
up to 4-5 front line case managers
- Ensure
clinical records are complete, up to date and required documentation is filed
for supervised staff
- Review
progress of each client toward treatment goals regularly with case workers to
ensure timely and successful completion of aftercare requirements
- Assist
case managers with working out challenges and generating alternative methods of
meeting needs of clients to ensure success.
- Monitor
contacts to ensure they are in keeping with program goals and outcome measures.
- Responsible
for submitting required monthly report data to supervisor.
- Carry
overflow caseload for JJDR
- Assist
with supervision of other juvenile justice staff as needed.
COMPENSATION: Starting
salary for this position is approximately $41,112 /yr or hr based on relevant
experience and education.
Scheduling: Flexibility is required to need the needs
of clients in the court system. Monday - Friday 8am-5pm with the expectation of
on call as necessary to appropriately supervise direct reports and meet the
needs of clients.
Travel: F
endorsement is required and personal vehicle may be used to transport clients
as necessary.
Equipment/Technology: Basic
computer skills are necessary for email, use of Microsoft Word and Excel, as
well as time keeping and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS - JJDR Team
Leader
Education:
- Must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in social work or related
behavioral field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in juvenile
justice.
Experience / Knowledge:
- Must have course work and or
experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and
treatment of mental illness, physical and sexual abuse, suicide, and
developmental disability.
- Must have significant experience in juvenile
justice and/or previous experience with supervising others.
Physical:
- Minimal
exposure to biological hazards.
- Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors.
- Hearing of normal and soft tones.
- Close eye work.
- Valid driver's license.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- CPR and First Aid
certification required.
- Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal
de-escalation techniques.
- Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
- Applicants should possess
the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural
backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect
and dignity.
- Effective communication
skills, strong time management, and organizational skills are necessary to
manage day to day job responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal,
written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and
collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals,
as well as maintaining proper documentation.
- Clinical staff members
must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement
on driver's license, and transport clients.
