The Ideal PRN Great Starts Therapist provides individual, group, and family therapeutic interventions that are evidence-based and culturally competent; Complete assessments for mental health of children and adults, alcohol and drug, and co-occurring disorders, formulate diagnoses, and develop master treatment plans for families; Assess for co-occurring disorders, provide co-occurring, mental health, and/or alcohol and drug education, and make referrals to appropriate co-occurring, mental health, and/or alcohol and drug treatment programs in the community when indicated; Complete paperwork timely and in compliance with contractual, legal, applicable licensing, accreditation, and quality assurance standards and oversight requirements;  Develop a thorough knowledge of network agencies and other resources in the area; Work with the Care Coordination Team in order to assure the needs of the families are met; Work with individual clients and their families to develop and implement treatment goals and a Family Treatment Plan; Serve as case manager to program participants and their families in arranging for linking and monitoring referrals to appropriate community support services including Tenncare; Serve as a liaison between community services agencies and the client; Participate as a Recovery Services team member providing programmatic input for Treatment Team decisions related to client needs and progress.

Schedule: This position is "as needed" and may require non traditional hours.

Travel: This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment.

Equipment/Technology: This position does require basic computer skills for timekeeping, scheduling and use of electronic medical records entry, and experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Outlook).

QUALIFICATIONS - PRN Great Starts Therapist

Education:

A master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field required (Licensure preferred)

Training in trauma informed care and interventions, co-occurring disorders, child psychopathology, and child development preferred

Experience implementing evidence-based models preferred. 

Experience / Knowledge:

One year experience providing parents with co-occurring disorders and children with evidence-based therapeutic interventions preferred.

Physical:

Exposure to biological hazards.

Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors.

Hearing of normal and soft tones as well as close eye work.

Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 250 lbs.

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.

To ensure the safety of the clients and staff, this position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal de-escalation techniques (Handle with Care)

Applicants should possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity. 

Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as maintaining proper documentation. 

Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
