The Blount Co. Recovery Court Co-Occurring Master's Level Clinician

Duties:

  • The position provides weekly individual therapy to adults in Blount County Recovery Court.
  • Must be able to treat individuals with mental health and co-occurring disorders.
  • Position will provide therapeutic interventions to address both substance use problems and mental health symptoms for consumers.
  • Position will complete assessments and make treatment recommendations based on presenting symptoms.
  • Position will complete treatment plans, crisis plans, no harm contracts, releases of information and any other relevant documentation with consumers.
  • Position will complete all documentation in the electronic medical record within 24 hours of initiation.
  • Position will attend weekly treatment team meetings, court appts, and coordinate with Blount County Recovery Court staff, treatment team, District Attorney's office, Probation, and other court system professionals.

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Summary of role of team:

  • Master's Level Co-Occurring Clinicians work together in providing wraparound care along with case management and medication services for clients.
  • Clinicians meet for weekly treatment team review and coordinate assessments in facilitating recommendations and referrals for care.

Summary of position:

  • Provides weekly individual and family psychotherapy to adults in the Blount County Recovery Court program whom experience mental health diagnoses and substance use diagnoses, or are at the onset of mental illness, and may be experiencing a family disruption.
  • Clinician will ensure compliance with productivity standards set by the Services Coordinator by scheduling determined number of clients for weekly session, providing follow up phone calls when clients cancel or miss scheduled appointments, and provide staff support staff with information for appointment reminder calls.
  • Clinician will attend weekly treatment team meetings and provide the psychiatrist with needed information regarding clients' current situation and family circumstances.
  • Clinician will attend doctor appointments as needed, will discuss options/goals for clients receiving services, and will provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.
  • Clinician will embrace the key values of clinical services: empowerment, normalization, rehabilitation, and continuity of care.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

  • Master's Level Clinicians have an identified consistent office working space at the Blount Recovery Court office.
  • This space is provided in order to provide care for their clients and host sessions.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Works in a multi-disciplinary team approach to meet the needs of persons served.

  • Represents the Center professionally in dress, presentation and demeanor.
  • Participates in treatment team.
  • Work with other professionals in the community, to promote continuity of care and further program development.
  • Coordinates with community members to meet the needs of consumers.
  • Provide linkage to other community supports, agencies, or services that are appropriate for client.

Complete all documentation in compliance with CARF, insurance and funding standards.

  • Work with leadership team to ensure grant requirements are met.
  • Update required paperwork every 6 months, or sooner if appropriate, with consumers.
  • Completes treatment plan within 30 days of initiating treatment.
  • All documentation within 24 hours of initiation.

Monitoring of treatment effectiveness and compliance.

  • Ensure that all policies are accurate, thoroughly documented and consistently applied.
  • Make sound decisions when faced with multifaceted problems.
  • Devote appropriate time and effort to the development of professional competence as evidenced by attending a minimum of 3 professional trainings annually.
  • Achieve optimal level of desired program goals and outcomes as measured by program productivity standards.
  • Meet productivity standards set by the program.
  • Attends supervision as scheduled without tardiness.
  • Attends administrative team meeting when on site without tardiness.
  • Meets QA/QI indicators as set by the program.

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting salary for this position is approximately $50,367 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

Schedule:

  • Primary working hours are Monday thru Friday 8a-5p.
  • This position is full-time 1 FTE.

Travel:

  • Not applicable

Equipment/Technical Competency:

  • Must have basic competency in office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Will have access to desktop phone and computer for scheduling and completing data entry in the electronic medical record.
  • Position requires regular use of a computer, and appropriate phone etiquette.
  • Position is required to respond to all voicemails, emails and messages within 24 hours.

Equipment/Technology:

  • Position must be able to complete electronic documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS - Blount Co. Recovery Court Co-Occurring Master's Level Clinician

Experience / Knowledge:

  • One year of direct experience in a human services or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of family dynamics, mental illness and psychological traits associated with the target population of program.
  • Must have course work and or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, co-occurring disorders, physical and sexual abuse and suicide.
  • Experience working in the substance use field is preferred although applicants may have other skills and experiences that could accommodate this position.
  • Experience/knowledge of outpatient detox, medication assisted treatment, motivational interviewing, and 12-step programs, as well as assessment, treatment planning and after-care is also beneficial.

Education / License:

  • Must have Master's degree in Human services or related field, with course work or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, suicide, and intellectual disability.
  • Professional license preferred.

Physical/Emotional/Social - Skills/Abilities:

  • Exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal and soft tones.
  • Close eye work.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.
  • Required to be certified in CPR/First Aid and trained in Handle with Care de-escalation techniques.
