JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Summary of role of team:

  • The purpose of the Population Health and Data Analytics team is to discover, interpret, and communicate significant patterns in data.
  • Using this data, we identify areas of strength and opportunity and examine variables that may be contributing.
  • We create data products to communicate our work that inform internal and external stakeholders and enable data-driven decisions.
  • Our work aligns with strategic goals and positions the organization for future success.

Summary of position:

  • The Business Intelligence Analyst will contribute to the organization's data driven success by developing and managing business intelligence tools and products.
  • The Business Intelligence Analyst duties involve steps throughout the development lifecycle including: requirement gathering, data preparation, connecting to data sources, dashboard design and development, testing, deployment, training, documentation, maintenance, and iteration.
  • Strong technical skills and experience with a variety of data analysis and visualization tools are essential.
  • This position will serve as a business intelligence subject matter expert and will assist in furthering data literacy and culture throughout the organization.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

  • This position typically operates in the office. 
  • To complete some job tasks, traveling to another organizational facility or to conference/training is required.

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting salary for this position is approximately $57,217 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

Schedule:

  • The required schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Hours outside of normal business hours may be required periodically if job duties require it.

Travel:

  • This position may require occasional travel.

Equipment/Technology:

  • Experience with business intelligence tools required; experience with Tableau Cloud preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and other data manipulation languages.

QUALIFICATIONS - Business Intelligence Analyst

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited university or college with an undergraduate degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Business.
  • Bachelor's eligible; Master's preferred.

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Experience with business intelligence tools required; experience with Tableau Cloud preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and other data manipulation languages.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and analytic techniques including descriptive statistics and exploratory, inferential, and predictive analysis.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, cloud computing, and experience with ETL processes preferred.
  • Experience using data to drive business outcomes and decisions required.
  • Healthcare business domain knowledge preferred.
  • The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and systems thinking skills.
  • The Business Intelligence Analyst must work with multidisciplinary teams to gather requirements, interpret/explain results, and collect feedback to enhance future iterations of data products.

Physical:

  • Office environment with heavy computer use.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Normal/corrected eyesight.
  • Hearing within normal range.
