The Recovery Liaison serves as a clinical member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing education, rehabilitation, and support for guests of the Living Room. Introduce and teach key recovery concepts through Illness Management and Recovery Groups to include Team Solutions and WRAP. Assist residents in developing plans of action, support, and discharge. In addition, the Recovery Liaison position is intended to provide hope for clients by having a support person who is a primary consumer of mental health services and is willing to share their experiences and story with mental illness, treatment, and recovery; to be a role model for clients who are currently in crisis. Must engage in recovery coaching with guests of the Living Room as well as assist guests in developing transition plans.
Education/Knowledge: A bachelor's degree in a health related field of counseling, psychology, or social work. Must have coursework and/or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, suicide, and crisis intervention.
Experience: Three years of experience working with individuals with mental illness and co-occurring diagnoses preferred. Experience in working with special populations including individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, Co-occurring Disorders, and Dual Diagnosis is preferred. Computer experience is helpful. Experience working in a crisis setting/Recovery response center is preferred. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
Applicants should possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity. Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as maintaining proper documentation. Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
Physical: Exposure to biological hazards. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Close eye work. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs. frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Mandatory to remain awake and alert during shift to monitor client safety. To ensure the safety of the clients and staff, this position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques (Handle with Care) that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, getting down on knees, running, and walking. Valid driver's license. Must have or be able to obtain an F-endorsement on driver license within first 2 weeks of employment. This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business including transportation of clients. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment.
Salary range for this position starts at approximately $13.53 per hour depending on relevant experience and education.
