The Director of Greater Chattanooga

Job Summary:

  • Supervises the clinical activities of Mental Health/Co-Occurring Programming in the Greater Chattanooga region.
  • Liaison with area school systems, Department of Mental Health, United Way, SAMHSA juvenile court and criminal court and other agencies in the region.
  • Supervises additional future programs that will operate within the area. Is a member of the leadership Team for Greater Chattanooga.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Liaison on behalf of the Center with Department of Mental Health administration and other fund sources to coordinate the delivery of services and ensure continued referrals.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train for supervised positions vacancies.
  • Assist Services and Program Coordinators in monitoring and reviewing program files to meet contract and HRMC requirements.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of new programs.
  • Coordinate the staffing and coverage of programming.
  • Responsible for clinical supervision to service providers.
  • Coordinate the completion of productivity reports.
  • Monitor and regulate with the program coordinators ensuring clinical productivity
  • Be credentialed and assist with a service delivery, i.e., caseload, when necessary.
  • Monitor ensuring programs meet all the goals and objectives as outlined in contracts.
  • Liaison with licensure and auditing monitors.
  • Retain CARF accreditation in all accredited programs.
  • Ensure that financial goals are met, and expenses are actively managed to balance the budget.
  • Coordinate scheduling.
  • Compile QA/QI reports for services supervised.
  • Engage in identification of new business opportunities
  • Engage in grant/ funding application process
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Performance Standards - Quantity and Quality:

  • Maintain clinical productivity of the programs.
  • Report clinical or administrative problems to supervisor and offer potential resolutions.
  • Complete all assigned reports by their due date as directed by the supervisor.
  • Organize responsibilities in order to achieve goals.
  • Also completes all job-related tasks assigned by supervisor that may not already be stated in this job description.

Job Standards:

  • Research and identify gaps in service delivery system (internal and external) as exhibited by reporting service needs in supervision.
  • Increase revenue in division through the application of grant funding or productivity increases.
  • Successfully implement new programming within HRMC as evidenced by 3 month start up to full implementation.
  • Ensure all programs meet standards of licensing agent and funder as evidenced by successful audits (target of 80% for SSOC; target of no more than 10 findings for other audits).
  • Ensure all programs meet standards of licensing agent and funder as evidenced by no repeat finding in audits
  • Continual improvement in quality programming as evidenced by the identification and correction of problem areas with no reoccurring issues
  • Identify best practice standards for program areas as evidenced by publication in program manuals
  • Implement best practice standards for program areas as evidenced by staff training.
  • Represents the Center in the community in a positive and professional manner as evidenced by membership on various boards and committees
  • Ensure positions are filled in a timely manner as evidenced by position filled within 2 months
  • Staff issues are identified and addressed promptly as evidenced by the utilization of progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Participate in budget development as evidenced by making recommendations during budget process.
  • Maintain productivity to ensure all revenue targets are met (including earning cost-based grants).
  • Control expenses (target of under 97%) in relationship to revenues earned

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting salary for this position is approximately $93,980 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

QUALIFICATIONS - Director of Greater Chattanooga

Education/Knowledge:

  • Must possess at least a Master's degree in a Social Service related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in service delivery/ supervision.
  • Knowledge of database applications.
  • Clinical knowledge necessary to provide clinical services and supervision of staff.
  • License eligible.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience in the mental health and /or social science field.

Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in order to achieve multiple goals.
  • Ability to relate well with the public and other professionals.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to keep accurate and up-to-date records and reports.
  • Ability to operate a computer and possess knowledge of database applications.
  • Ability to plan and implement the delivery of treatment services.
  • Treatment/ service delivery experience/ensure productivity - revenue goals are achieved.
