Education Specialist

The ideal Education Specialist:

  • maintains various records and paperwork for the residential center
  • provides both administrative, education and treatment support
  • scheduling appointments
  • answering phone calls
  • facilitating groups
  • filing student records
  • helping with transportation for education needs
  • tutoring
  • assisting the teachers in varies area of education needs

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $14.76 /hr based on relevant experience and education.


  • Hours will vary depending on location.  


  • Transporting clients in a personal vehicle or Center vehicle is an essential function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS - Education Specialist


  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably with an education background.


  • Minimum of one year of clerical experience. 
  • Experience working with adolescents as well as previous experience in the alcohol and drug field is preferred. 
  • Must possess basic computer skills and have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Working with children/youth/families. 
  • One year of residential experience preferred or exposure via internship. 
  • Understanding of the expectations of DCS/DOE. 
  • Must possess basic computer skills and have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.


  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal to soft tones and close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal and physical de-escalation techniques.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
