The Facilities Technician
JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY
Summary of position:
- Performs general maintenance tasks, preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, logs and tracks helpdesk requests, and meets with vendors.
- Replaces light tubes/bulbs, fixtures and electrical components.
- Moves Furniture.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
- Position will be in a Facility Operations Environment.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assists with monthly safety inspections for buildings, opens tickets for all safety issues.
- Monitors and reports any facility items needing addressed, ceiling tiles replaced, lights out, trip hazards, or pest issues.
- Ensures all annual inspections for the buildings have been completed in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of all CARF and Licensure requirements for facilities.
- Minor construction, demolition, and repair of walls when needed.
- Knowledge of vehicle policies and safety requirements.
- Assists with oil changes for facilities with center vehicles.
- Assists with fire drills
- Participates with on call as needed.
- Ensures all monthly PM's are completed timely.
- Avoids real or perceived conflicts of interest
- Reports all violations of policy or code of ethics.
- Works all tickets assigned timely and with accuracy.
- Assists with moves, putting together furniture, and new building startups and shutdowns.
- Ensures that all HRMC Emergency calls are responded to.
- Required to contact supervisor with an update on emergency calls before leaving job site property.
- Required to answer work phone or respond back within 30 minutes.
- Ensures that vehicle assigned to technician is maintained.
- Required to maintain a clean and organized vehicle. The technician is responsible for any and all traffic violations while operating a HRMC vehicle.
- Observes all safety practices from wearing PPE to being aware of you and your team's safety.
- Conducts all work in a courteous and professional manner.
- Leaves all work areas clean of tools and debris, to ensure the safety of all clients and staff.
COMPENSATION:
- Starting salary for this position is approximately $20.31/hour based on relevant experience and education.
Schedule:
- This is a full-time 40 hour per week position; it will require some overtime and will be required for on-call emergency.
Travel:
- Must have valid TN Driver's License.
- Must be able to drive a Center Vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS - Hamilton Co. Facilities Technician
Experience / Knowledge:
- A minimum of three years' experience is required in the field of building maintenance and/or construction.
- Some knowledge of computers and computer software.
- Must be able to work in an environment that includes adults and children.
- Applicants must be able to work independently, and with minimal supervision, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to drive a center vehicle.
Education / License:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years' experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Knowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC systems, construction materials and general construction techniques.
Physical/Emotional/Social - Skills/Abilities:
- Exposure to biological hazards.
- Hearing of normal and soft tones.
- Close eye work.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladder.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Valid Driver's License
