2 Generation Collaborative Co-Occurring Counselor

The 2 Generation Collaborative Co-Occurring Counselor:

  • Provides effective interventions in individual, group, and family formats as directed by the treatment plan to address mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Meets with clients individually per their request or need.
  • Introduce clients to the 12-Step model and /or other appropriate recovery modalities.
  • Refer clients to medication assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriate.
  • Manages the treatment plan. Uses the plan as a working document to coordinate the delivery of services from a variety of appropriate service providers.
  • Maintains regular contact with referral sources and collaborates as needed regarding client care.
  • Performs other duties assigned.

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $45,080 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

Scheduling:  Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Travel: A valid driver's license with an F Endorsement is required

Equipment/Technology: Basic computer skills are required for email, timekeeping, and documentation in the electronic medical record.

QUALIFICATIONS - 2 Generation Collaborative Co-Occurring Counselor


  • Must have at least a Master's degree in a health-related field of counseling, psychology, social work or sociology from an accredited college of university.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Experience working with children, families and adults 1:1 and in a group setting, as well as, 3-5 years previous experience in the mental health, co-occurring and/or Criminal justice field is preferred. 
  • Applicants may have other counseling skills and /or treatment/recovery environment experience that could accommodate this position.


  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal/soft tones and close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (training provided).
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Clinical staff may be required to get an F endorsement to transport clients as necessary.
