SUMMARY - Master's Level Crisis Therapist

The Master's Level CSU Therapist serves as a clinical member of the multi-disciplinary team, completing face to face assessments and intakes as well as providing education, rehabilitation, and support for clients of the Hamblen Crisis Stabilization Unit. 

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $ 49,980 /yr based on relevant experience and education. Applicants with a current TN LPC or LMFT start at $53,900 or LCSWs start at $55,859.

REQUIREMENTS - Master's Level Therapist

Education/Knowledge

  • Must have at least a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a health-related field of counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, or a behavioral science field with course work or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, suicide, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. 
  • Must be licensed or license eligible. 
  • This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment. 
  • Must obtain F endorsement.

Experience

  • Experience preferred in the social work field or a behavioral health setting with extensive experience with special populations including individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, Co-Occurring Disorders, and Dual Diagnosis Disorders preferred. 
  • Experience working in a crisis setting and triage. 
  • Knowledge of community services for linkage and referral.

Physical

  • Exposure to biological hazards. Hearing of normal / soft tones and close eye work. 
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs. 
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. 
  • Must have mental ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure. 
  • Required to be certified in, and effectively implement, verbal and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily movements; including but not limited to, grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking. 
  • CPR and First Aid certification required. 
  • Mandatory to remain awake and alert during shift. .

Due to CSU and WIC being 24 hours/7 days per week programming, the following expectations are applied to all staff working in these programs:

  • All staff will be present and on time for shift in order to relieve previous shift.
  • All staff will stay on shift until relief coverage arrive. 
  • All staff have been briefed on the nature of the programming and understand that shifts must be covered in order to keep our staff and clients safe.
  • All staff recognize that if bad weather is predicted be prepared to make it in prior to poor travel conditions and to stay until relieve staff can make it in.
