The Ideal Detention Liaison Counselor will work under the supervision of the Detention Crisis Response Program Coordinator. The counselor will provide direct linkage to and from the McNabb Center (e.g. referrals, records, program information, etc.). They will provide assessment, intervention, referrals and consultation to clients, families and court staff. This position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with judges, attorneys, court staff, schools staff, outside agencies and the public. The candidate should be familiar with counseling techniques, intervention skills, family systems, mental health dynamics, and substance abuse issues and have demonstrated effective verbal and written skills.
COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $37,717 /yr based on relevant experience and education.
Scheduling: This position is a Full time Monday through Friday position located at either Knox, Blount, or Sevier County Detention Centers
Travel: This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment. "F" endorsement is required. Must be able to provide transportation as needed.
Equipment/Technology: This position requires the use of computer skills with an electronic medical record (EMR), and telehealth / televideo services may be offered as part of the service delivery.
