The Violent Crime Clinician is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of primary and secondary victims of homicide, gang violence, and other violent crimes:

  • Provides individual therapy to meet the needs of each client and may provide group therapy support. 
  • Provides weekly or bi-weekly individual therapy for clients. 
  • Utilizes evidence-based therapeutic techniques to assist victims with processing their trauma. 
  • Employs evidence-based assessments to track client progress. 
  • Responsible for completion of treatment plans, progress notes, and all necessary documentation in accordance with funding guidelines and policy and procedures

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $45,080 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

Scheduling: 

  • Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm  Flexibility may be required to meet the needs of clients.

Travel

  • Some travel may be required to meet the needs of clients.

QUALIFICATIONS - Violent Crime Clinician

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or other related field of study. 
  • Eligible for certification and licensure by the state of Tennessee if such exists or his/her degree/profession.

Experience / Knowledge:

  • One year experience preferred with specialized training/course work in trauma and victim services.
  • This job requires that use of a computer, with basic word and excel skills. 

Physical:

  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal / soft tones and close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
