The PRN Nurse is responsible for:

  • assessment and management of withdrawal signs/symptoms of clients presenting to the unit
  • initial medical assessments of clients during
  • providing appropriate nursing care for Medical Detox, Medically Monitored Detox and Residential Services

Scheduling: 

  • Position is an "as needed" position. 
  • Must be flexible with work scheduling (Night Shifts are required).

Travel:

  • No travel required.

Equipment/Technology:

  • Basic computer skills are required for documentation in electronic medical record, email, and timekeeping.

QUALIFICATIONS - PRN Nurse

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited LPN / RN program. 
  • Must have licensure as a practical or registered nurse in the state of Tennessee. 
  • Prior clinical experience preferred.

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Prefer 1 years' experience in substance abuse and treatment techniques.
  • Must have knowledge of medical terminology, charting skills and familiarity with medical settings. 
  • Must be able to coordinate effectively and efficiently with medical providers and pharmacies. 
  • Must have the ability to relate positively with and be emotionally supportive of clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

 Physical:

  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal to soft tones and close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
