The Staff Development Trainer & Personnel Support is responsible for training and orienting new staff to the McNabb Center in the Greater Hamilton County area as well as ongoing personnel support. This particular position, based in the Chattanooga office, manages the student intern program and PRN staff approvals for the entire Centeras part of a full service HR team. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating New Employee Orientation including Handle With Care, CPR, and QPR.
  • Efficiently processing new hire documents including background checks and education verification.
  • Assessing and processing PRN staff approvals, ensuring HR compliance measures are completed.
  • Providing ongoing personnel support to staff and supervisors.
  • Maintaining HRIS and online training module databases.
  • Supporting HR Team through teamwork and collaboration.
  • Maintaining accurate personnel files.

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $19.03/hour based on relevant experience and education.


Regular full time attendance required. 40 hour week; M-F; 8a-5p.


Some travel required between McNabb Centers for external trainings.

QUALIFICATIONS - Staff Development Trainer and Personnel Support

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field, or Bachelor's Degree related to behavioral sciences, with knowledge of adult learning, training design, and training methodology. Knowledge of human resource policies and employment law preferred.

Experience/Knowledge: One year of experience in classroom teaching or training delivery preferred. Clinical experience and knowledge preferred.


  • Ability to have excellent attendance and start the work day at assigned time.
  • Long periods of sitting and standing required.
  • Close computer work required.
  • Ability to facilitate advanced physical training in Handle With Care including standing, stooping, grabbing, running, holding other people including adults, landing on knees on ground, and other physical abilities.
  • Ability to see with correction, hear normal tones, and talk on phone and talk in training.
  • Ability to drive to other sites to train. May need to work after hours to train at times.
  • Ability to facilitate training as well as complete extensive administrative/computer tasks.


  • Ability to work effectively in a team with various personalities, promoting a positive work culture.
  • Ability to complete a large amount of computer data entry daily and communicate effectively with supervisors effectively.
  • Ability to facilitate didactic learning for long periods to a varied audience.
