The PRN Host Homes / Safe Place Youth Advocate Specialist will provide on-site and community-based assessment, referral, coordination of care, and preventive planning for youth and young adults who are considered to be runaways or at eminent risk of becoming homeless

Scheduling: 

  • This position is considered as needed and may require non-traditional hours.

Travel

  • This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. 
  • Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment.

Equipment/Technology

  • Basic computer skills are required for email, scheduling, time keeping, and documentation in electronic medical records. 

QUALIFICATIONS - PRN Host Homes / Safe Place Youth Advocate Specialist

Education/Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in a social science or social services-related field. 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human services or related field is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum one year experience working with youth in out-of-home or residential setting. 
  • Previous experience in working with abused, neglect and/or special needs youth preferred.

 Physical:

  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal to soft tones and close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
