Grant Billing Specialist

The ideal Grant Billing Specialist:

  • prepares invoices to be submitted to various funding agencies for collections of funds
  • is responsible for grant contract maintenance and distribution, and maintaining log of all grant contracts and billing activity. 
  • requires applicant to work a set schedule during billing deadlines and during this time there may be limitations on the use of leave time. 
  • meeting deadlines and productivity goals are mandatory in the performance of all job duties.
  • is responsible for federal reimbursement requests, participation in the grant budget and spend-down process
  • is responsible for the safekeeping and the organization of contracts and billing records required for Federal, State, and local Audits.
  • will require knowledge of Accounts Payable function in order to review and code expenses accurately as specified by the requirements of State, Federal, Local, and other misc. grants.

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $15.78 /hr based on relevant experience and education.

Scheduling:  Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm  with respect to billing deadlines.

Travel: No travel is required for this position.

Equipment/Technology: Basic computer skills are required for email and time keeping.  Knowledge of billing software.

QUALIFICATIONS - Grant Billing Specialist

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.  
  • Associates Degree in Accounting preferred.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Must have at least (3) years of experience in grant contracts or other contractual billings.  Must have experience building and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.  
  • Must be able to maintain files in a highly organized manner. 
  • Understanding of electronic billing is a plus

Physical:

  • Hearing of normal and soft tones.
  • Close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Applicants should possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity. 
  • Effective communication skills, strong time management, and organizational skills are necessary to manage day to day job responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as maintaining proper documentation. 
  • Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
