The Foster Care Master's Level Placement Coordinator

Job Summary

  • Provides clinical oversight to case managers working with children placed in therapeutic foster homes.
  • This position is responsible for the placement of children and youths in foster homes and residential treatment facilities operated by the agency.

1. Provide clinical supervision for foster care specialists/programming.

  • Responsible for supervision of up to 5 foster care specialists.
  • Respond to disruptions within resource homes and facilitate rematches
  • Review progress of each child toward treatment goals regularly with case workers to ensure timely exits to permanence to uphold performance-based contracting goals
  • Ensure that each treatment plan is clinically appropriate, trauma-informed and client-centered
  • Aid in maintaining each child's placement when appropriate by adding additional services and support
  • Provide 24/5 backup emergency on-call for supervised cases.
  • Participate as backup weekend emergency on-call on a rotating basis with other supervisors.

2. Maintain program productivity.

  • Review all incoming referral packets and place appropriate clients in foster homes or residential facilities.
  • Manage admissions, discharges and level changes for residential and foster care.
  • Participate in a rotating placement on-call schedule with other program coordinators.

3. Ensure compliance with client documentation.

  • Conduct audits in TFACTS to ensure timely entry of contacts, monthly summaries, SIR's, etc.
  • Conduct audits of client charts to ensure all documentation is filed and completed
  • Complete HRMC and DCS move forms for residential and foster care admission and foster care rematches.
  • Ensure all forms are completed in a timely manner in accordance with policy.

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting salary for this position is approximately $55,983 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

QUALIFICATIONS - Foster Care Master's Level Placement Coordinator

Experience:

  • At a minimum, 3 years of experience working in foster care.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Education / Knowledge:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, or related field with course work or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, substance use, trauma, neglect and abuse, and intellectual disabilities.

Physical/Emotional/Social - Skills/Abilities:

  • Exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal and soft tones.
  • Close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license with F endorsement.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
  • This position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking. (training provided)
